music monday// already there

Most of the times in my life, especially this season I’m in, I just can’t seem to figure God out and what He’s doing concerning the prayers I've been pouring out to Him. life can get pretty confusing and I begin to wonder if He’s doing something to rescue me. but I take comfort in His word that says, “ ‘ for My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.’ ” Isaiah 55:8-9

Everything may seem to be falling apart and it may look like God is taking forever to help me but I choose to believe His promises. Things could be way worse. And I know in the course of time, His plan will become clearer and I will eat the good of the land and I will see His goodness in the land of the living. I know He sees me, and He’s watching for my reaction to the tests I face. It’s all just a matter of time.

already there~ casting crowns
From where I’m standing,
Lord, it’s so hard for me to see
where this is going and where You’re leading me.
I wish I knew how all my fears and all my questions
are gonna play out in a world I can’t control

when I’m lost in the mystery,
to You my future is a memory
cause You’re already there, You are already there
standing at the end of my life,
waiting on the other side
and You’re already there, You are already there

from where You’re standing,
Lord, You see a grand design
that You imagined when You breathed me into life
and all the chaos comes together in Your hands
like a masterpiece of Your picture perfect plan

one day I’ll stand before You
and look back on the life I’ve lived.
I can’t wait to enjoy the view
And see how all the pieces fit

the story behind the song

“He knows the way that I take. When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10

“… I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End…” revelation 21:6

“and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

“ ‘for I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Jeremiah 29:11

“and I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of Life…and each person was judged according to what they had done.” Revelations 20:12-13

“and without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

What you do during the time of test and trials reveal what is really in your heart towards God. Choose to faithfully cling to Him during the storms, never letting go. Refuse to complain against God. I know, I get so tempted to do that. But let’s be careful what we say to Him.  let’s use the gifts and talents He’s given us to bring glory to Him right in the middle of the storms. let’s choose to walk by the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not see. Faith.

music monday// the lost get found

I've been called as a Christ follower to reach out to the destitute around me, and most importantly to share the Good News of Christ with them. I know this very well, and yet it’s sometimes real hard to look beyond the personal issues I may be going through. I can get so consumed with problems I face that reaching out seems quite an arduous task.
Sometimes I would like to have my life perfect before bothering to reach out, but Holy Spirit convicts me and gently reminds me that rain or shine, troubles free or not, my duty as a child of God redeemed by Christ is to be the light, reflecting Christ’s light for someone, somewhere. It can’t be all about me all the time.

the lost get found~ britt nicole
Hello my friend, I remember when you were so alive
With your eyes to the light
that you had when your heart was stolen.
Now you say that it ain’t worth stayin’
You wanna run but you’re hesitatin’
I’m talking to me.

Don’t let your lights go down
Don’t let your fire burn out
Cause somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe.
Why don’t you rise up now?
Don’t be afraid to stand-ou-ou-out
That’s how the lost get fou-ou-ound
The lost get fou-ou-ound.

So when you get the chance,
Are you gonna take it?
There’s a really big world at your fingertips
And you know you have the chance to change it.

There’s a girl on the streets, she’s crying
There’s a man whose faith is dying.
Love is calling you-oo-oo

Why do we go with the flow?
Why take the easier road?
Why are we playing it safe?
Love came to show us the way
Love is a chance we should take
I’m moving out of the gray

“then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ and I said, ‘here am i. send me!’ Isaiah 6:8

“…woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward…” 1 corinthians 9:16-17

“you are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

“therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

“speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Proverbs 31:8-9

“do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is- His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

“therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 corinthians 15:58

matthew 24:12-13  says, “because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”

Has your love to reach out to the world around you grown cold? You may be the only hope for someone to get the chance to know/hear the Gospel and be saved. As you reach out to others, watch God reach out to you in your personal circumstances. Keep your light burning.

music monday// You make everything beautiful

So valentine’s day is around the block…again. And you find yourself single…again. Fret not, you’ve got company. Whether you’re single or taken by a godly person, you are loved beyond measure by the Author of love.
I’m not worried about my future sweetheart. I know God is preparing him for me and our future children to be a loving and diligent husband and daddy to me and our kids. To be honest, my thoughts have been soaked wet more about my purpose and using the gifts God has given me to bring Him glory. I know He has my sweetheart in mind, and this is just a waiting season where I’m supposed to grow and mature properly into the full stature of Christ. I know He’s setting the stage for future hubs and me to meet, cause He told me so! And I believe Him!

So while your girlfriends are going on special dates this valentine, remember that love is not just about guy-girl relationships. Ahh, love is so much more! There’s your family, friends, strangers, lil kiddos to love on. You can go on a fun outing with some of your single friends and enjoy your friendship, and snuggle with a great book later. Don’t wallow in loneliness and mope around. Life is bigger than a significant other. There are aching, homeless, hungry people to reach out to. Be the light of Jesus where you are. Remember to pamper yourself too- manicure and pedicure anybody? Wear that lovely dress just because, and cook your favorite meal. Drink a bit of some sweet wine or your fav drink and be thankful for His breath of life and love within you.

You make everything beautiful~rebecca st. james
Grant me serenity to accept things,
The things I cannot change.
Grant me the courage, Lord
To change what I can,
Wisdom to know the difference.

In my weakness You can shine,
In Your strength I can fly and

You make everything, everything beautiful
You make everything, everything new.
You make everything, everything beautiful
In its time, in Your time, it’s beautiful

Grant me serenity, Lord,
And patience, for things will take time
Grant me freedom to walk a new path
And let me feel Your love.

Lifting open hands to You, my Savior,
Beautify my soul.
Knowing You redeem my pain and failure,
Purify my soul, beautify my soul.

here's the inspiration behind the song

“but He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 corinthians 12:9

“an unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord’s affairs; her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit…” 1 corinthians 7:34

“there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance…He has made everything beautiful in its time…” ecclesiastes 3:1,4,11

“but seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33

“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

“but as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.” micah 7:7

In His own beautiful time, our gracious and loving Father will bring our Godly men into our lives. I urge you to focus on God and His purpose for your life. I hope you don’t become so desperate for a guy/girl that you lower the Godly standards God has for you. With or sans a guy, you are unbelievably loved! Alone is not lonely, so it’s better to be alone and have your integrity than to cheapen yourself by hookng up with some guy. Patience is a virtue. You have the desire to be in a Godly relationship leading to marriage because God most likely put that desire there in your heart. Allow Him to write your love story. It’ll be beautiful! Wait and see. :)

music monday// morning song

welcome to the second day of the second month!
I love to sing this song in the mornings! Love steffany’s clear, lovely voice and how meditative and simple it is. it’s important for me to tune my focus and thoughts on my sweet Father right when He wakes me up. how I start my mornings is really important. I love to give my praise and worship to Him first thing in the mornings, giving Him the first hours of my day.

Each day that He wakes you up is a miracle! You sleep without knowing for certain if you will wake. But His constant mercy and goodness keeps us and opens our eyes to the miracle of a new day filled with His beauty.

morning song~ steffany gretzinger
Night turns to morning, You have been waiting
Whispering to me, gently I’m waking
It’s a dawn of a new day, You’ve painted for me
Colors exploding, telling our story

I’m waking up, I’m waking up,
I’m waking up, I’m waking up

I can feel the rising of the sun
Mercy sings me the promise of Your love
I’m reminded of how far we’ve come
You’re the One that my heart is beating for

“but I will sing of Your strength, in the morning I will sing of Your love; for You are my fortress, my refuge, my refuge in times of trouble.” Psalm 59:16

“the Lord wraps Himself in light as with a garment; He stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of His upper chambers on their water...” Psalm 104:2-3

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” Isaiah 26:3

“surely Your goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:6

I hope you don’t rush off your mornings. I hope you take the time to revel in the splendor and beauty of a new morning painted by our Father and offer Him praise! As charles spurgeon once said, “praise is the beauty of a Christian. What wings are to a bird, what fruit is to a tree, what the rose is to the thorn, that is praise to a child of God.”

                                                xoxo, gen delali.
