tunes tuesday// we must praise

hi people! i know, i know, it's a tuesday, not a monday.

so to make up for yesterday, I'm sharing this lovely song by j moss. it encourages me to use every single gift that Father has blessed me with, not for myself but to praise Him and in the process draw humans to want to know Him and respond to His loving call on their lives with enthusiasm and joy. enjoy!
we must praise // J moss

If I were a drummer, I would use my cymbal
If I were a writer, I would use a pencil
I would use my voice, if I were a singer
No matter who or what we are, we must praise

If I was a doctor, I would use my research
A prolific dissertation, if I was a speaker
I would use my hands, if I were a potter
No matter who or what we are, we must praise

Let the people of God bless Him
Let it ring with love and truth
With our gifts we exalt Thee
Merciful, wonderful God
We must praise

If I were an eagle, I would use my wings
Since I'm a believer, I use everything
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord
All ye people
No matter who or what we are, we must praise

Praise His Holy, Holy Name [x5]
With our gifts we exalt Thee
Merciful wonderful God

Oh Hallelujah, Oh glory, Oh holy of holies
Oh Bread of life God, Oh meat of hunger Lord
Water of thirst Lord, We magnify you
We thank You for what You've done God
What You're doing God and what You're gonna do
No matter who or what we are, we must praise.

"I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being."// psalm 104:33
"Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases."// psalm 103:1-3

"Sing to the LORD, praise the LORD! For He has delivered the soul of the needy one From the hand of evildoers."// jeremiah 20:13

i love this song! it reminds me to be intentional about praising Father not only with my voice but with the gifts of writing, dancing choreography (errr, i used to do this when i was a kid then life happened and i kinda forgot about it but i'm sooo picking it up. it can't be a lost art. heheh). Father created me to create.

all this to say that Father would ask me what i spent my time doing on this fleeting earth. He will ask me how i spent my time, what i did with the gifts He gave me. did i bother to spend time asking Him what gifts He gave me in the first place? did i make time to discover them and develop them. did i use them? how did i use them...for the world or for Him? will He say well done My good and faithful servant when that Day comes?
with all these questions rolling around in my mind i know it's wise to continue using my gift of writing especially in this season and polish up on the others. (i seriously need to get more serious with my guitar lessons. self teaching isn't so easy but with time i'll make some progress.)

"let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."// matthew 5:16

so what are the spiritual gifts and talents Father has blessed you with? are you using them wisely for the greatness of His Kingdom? are you using them in love? let's remember that it's all about God and not us at all. it's all for His glory and for others who doubt and do no believe get to experience Him through us.
please use your gifts and talents. it could be writing, playing a instrument, singing, drawing, paiting, exceptional organizational skills, communication skills, acting, speaking....
it's awesome to walk in purpose! life makes more meaning when we find our calling and walk in it. life becomes more colorful and beautiful. :)

let go of fear and shyness.
let's be brave and do this!

music monday// broken lullabies

hi folks! i was a little caught up with last week so i couldn't post. buuuuut today, I'm so posting! (obviously) *giggles*

so this song....broken lullabies. I heard a few years back and i fell deep, head over heels in love with it. it's so gentle to the ears and it's so soothing to the soul and the truth it echoes is so real and totally vibes with me. hehehe

i guess i fell for this beautiful song because it's resonates with me. it reminds me of me, the little girl me when the home i lived in became a place of strife and anger...when the home tore apart and became a house of humans living in their own hurt and bitter worlds. and i remember how listening to Kids love Jesus too on a christian radio station (sunny fm) became solace for me. the laughter and joy of the kids dramatically narrating the Bible stories brought some color into my world during "your story our" hosted by aunt carole and uncle dan, and then crocheting became my thing of escape too.

i remember how i always looked forward to my test scores from the "your story hour" team based in US ...and all the smileys they put on my scores and encouraging words. and all those times, all those moments of brokenness...Jesus was working, He was so close, He knew everything and He knew I'd survive and thrive. and He comforted me in ways I didn't even know back then.

i hope this song brings some emotional relief to you as you listen and sing along.

broken lullabies// for King and country
Lovely child, lay your head and sleep
Dream of a world full of circus rides
And golden streets
Lonely child, why are you so sad?
Why do the tears fall so easily?
You're too young to weep

So you pray
And you wait
For the better days when you'll be safe

And some day soon you'll find where you belong
Where there are no more broken lullabies

How long, child, have you been afraid?
When was the last time you laughed out loud,
The last time you played?
You build your walls with blankets from your bed
You hide underneath them, you close your eyes
And try to forget

And some day soon you'll find where you belong
And one day soon you'll leave it all behind
You'll find a place where love remains
Where there are no more broken lullabies

I know you feel like you're alone
But you're not
And I know you feel like no one knows
But you're wrong

So you pray
And you wait
But don't worry I will keep you safe

Some day soon you'll find where you belong
And one day soon you'll leave it all behind
You'll find a place where love remains
Where there are no more broken lullabies

"For He inflicts pain, and gives relief; He wounds, and His hands also heal." // job 5:18

"The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit." // psalm 34:18

"He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds."// psalm 147:3

no matter what you've been through, no matter what you're going through, no matter what you'll be going through, no matter who broke your heart with their lies, Jesus is near, so, so near.
take heart, be strong. you'll be so fine.

soulful hymns//ancient words

welcome to the first day of the month of march! i hope February treated you well. the hymn i'm sharing today is one of my favs. it reminds me the the Word of God (who is the person of Jesus), is the most important book i can ever read.

i get to know the heart of Jesus as i read His love letters each day. they rebuke me and correct me and most importantly, they remind me that i am loved by my Darling Jesus. and this love, His love, changes everything. i journal what He teaches me each day when i read to get to know more about Him and how my relationship with Him will thrive.

ancient words by michael w. smith
Holy words long preserved
For our walk in this world,
They resound with god's own heart
Oh, let the ancient words impart.

Words of life, words of hope
Give us strength, help us cope
In this world, where e'er we roam
Ancient words will guide us home.

Chorus:
Ancient words ever true
Changing me, and changing you.
We have come with open hearts
Oh let the ancient words impart.

Holy words of our faith
Handed down to this age.
Came to us through sacrifice
Oh heed the faithful words of Christ.

Holy words long preserved
For our walk in this world.
They resound with god's own heart
Oh let the ancient words impart.

Chorus x4

We have come with open hearts
Oh let the ancient words impart.

"and these words which i command you today shall be in your heart. you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."// deuteronomy 6:6-9

"My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you."// galatians 4:19

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."// John 1:14

Jesus is formed in me day by day as i spend time with Him, the Word. i get to know what He likes, dislikes... i get to understand why He asks me to do certain things.

and hopefully, people out there who don't read the Bible get to see humans who are showing Jesus so well by the way they live so much so that unbelievers will be convicted to believe in Jesus.

some of the major truths in the Bible are:

"for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus) that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting Life" //John 3:16

"And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.  And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” // mark 12:30-31

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;  does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;  does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love..// 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, 13

so have you been reading and meditating on the Word lately, have you been teaching the truths hidden in the love letters of Father to your children, nephews, nieces, grand kids, stranger kids, kids in your church, kids on the street, your friends and colleagues, your siblings, your family? i hope you do. and i hope that you use the Word practically in Your life because Father always has a word from His Word to encourage our weary hearts in every situation that we find ourselves in.

 xoxo, delali.
